    AveXis, Inc., a Novartis Company, is a clinical-stage gene therapy company, dedicated to developing and commercializing novel treatments for patients suffering from rare and life-threatening neurological genetic diseases. Our initial product candidate, AVXS-101, is our proprietary gene therapy product candidate currently in development for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy, or SMA, Type 1, the leading genetic cause of infant mortality, and for the treatment of SMA Type 2. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, has granted AVXS-101 Orphan Drug Designation for the treatment of all types of SMA and Breakthrough Therapy Designation, as well as Fast Track Designation for the treatment of SMA Type 1. In addition to developing AVXS-101 to treat SMA Type 1 and Type 2, we also plan to develop other novel treatments for rare neurological diseases, including Rett syndrome (RTT) and a genetic form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) caused by mutations in the superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) gene.


    AveXis is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to support the HR team by managing market pricing activities, providing analysis and reporting. The Senior Analyst will also ensure integrity of compensation data in Workday.


    • Manage the market pricing process including researching survey sources, completing survey submissions, analyzing and interpreting data, reviewing trends and recommending actions. Review new jobs and determine appropriate grades.
    • Ensure the integrity of compensation data in Workday by conducting data audits, partnering with the HR team and correcting errors as needed.
    • Participate in various compensation related projects by providing analytical expertise, gathering data, creating reports and providing insights.
    • Assist with managing the annual compensation review process.
    • Partner with HRIS team to complete EIBs and set up new or modify existing Workday elements or processes.


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years of experience in an HR Compensation role.
    • Proficient in Workday (HCM, Advanced Compensation, reporting).
    • Experience with Radford Life Sciences survey preferred.
    • Fully proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to effectively communicate policies and information, knowing when to escalate questions or issues.
    • Excellent attention to details and accuracy of data, ability to prioritize and follow through on requests.
    • Must be able to handle HR related information with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Well organized, able to multi-task, meet deadlines and recommend process improvements.
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills with proven customer service focus.


    The level of this position will be based on the final candidate’s qualifications.
